Quickview

Quickview is the single-dataset decision view in the Media module. Use it when you want one place to inspect the current media, rate it, review key metadata, and decide whether to share, archive, or delete it.

Main Layout

Quickview focuses on one dataset at a time.

The page combines:

  • a media panel for video or thumbnail playback
  • previous and next overlay arrows on the media
  • a summary panel with dataset identity and status
  • rating controls
  • sharing buttons
  • dataset metadata
  • cleanup actions

On wider screens the media and info areas sit side by side. In embedded workflows, the host can control the exact layout.

Dataset Selection And Refresh

Quickview keeps its current dataset as long as that dataset still exists.

  • If an initial folder is provided and still exists, Quickview uses it.
  • Otherwise it falls back to the newest available dataset, or the first available dataset when needed.
  • The page refreshes the gallery every 3 seconds.
  • It also refreshes on focus and visibility changes.

On dashboard tiles, Quickview can auto-follow the newest dataset when new work appears.

Main Controls

Quickview exposes the following controls on the standalone page:

  • previous dataset arrow
  • next dataset arrow
  • dataset actions menu
  • five-star rating row
  • Clear rating button
  • Share by email
  • Share by QR code
  • Quickview Settings

Dataset Actions Menu

The dataset actions menu provides:

  • Open containing folder or Copy folder path
  • Archive
  • Delete

As with other review views, opening the folder depends on desktop integration. Otherwise Quickview copies the path instead.

Rating Controls

Quickview supports saved star ratings from 1 to 5.

  • Click any star to set that rating.
  • Use Clear to reset the rating back to zero.

The saved rating updates both the detailed view and the dataset summary in the loaded list.

Share By QR Code

Share by QR code opens a modal for the current dataset.

Quickview will:

  • check whether the sharing service is connected
  • try to start the sharing service when it is not connected
  • request a QR code for the current dataset
  • display the QR image and the final share URL
  • let the operator copy the URL directly

If QR creation fails, the modal explains that the sharing service may not be connected.

Share By Email

Share by email opens a form-driven modal for the current dataset.

Depending on the server-side share form configuration, that modal can include:

  • one email field or a multi-recipient text area
  • custom text fields
  • custom select fields
  • terms and conditions checkboxes

On success, Quickview shows a confirmation and then closes the modal shortly afterward.

Metadata Panel

Quickview shows the most important metadata for the current dataset:

  • captured resolution and ratio
  • processed resolution and ratio
  • recipe name or aspect preset
  • recording duration
  • recorded-at timestamp

It also shows relative time and a processing indicator near the dataset header.

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Left Arrow moves to the previous dataset.
  • Right Arrow moves to the next dataset.
  • Escape closes settings first. On the standalone page it then returns to the previous page.
  • Ctrl+, opens or closes settings on the standalone page.

When Quickview is embedded as a dashboard tile, the standalone settings shortcut is disabled locally.

Quickview Settings

Quickview uses the shared preset editor on the standalone page. That modal lets you:

  • choose the active preset
  • create, rename, and delete presets
  • copy the preset URL
  • open the preset URL in a browser

The current Quickview preset editor exposes:

  • Player size

Treat this as a layout preset hook. In the current build, the visible effect can vary depending on whether Quickview is running as a standalone page or as part of a dashboard layout.

Dashboard Tile Behavior

Quickview is also available as a dashboard tile.

In embedded mode:

  • the tile can auto-follow the newest dataset
  • it can publish its current dataset selection back to the dashboard host
  • the standalone settings button is hidden
  • it stays tightly paired with the Frames tile in synchronized review layouts

Use Quickview when you need a final yes-or-no decision view. If you need bulk gallery management, use Library. If you need frame-level inspection, use Frames.
