Player
Player is the playback-focused review page. Use it when you want to watch the current playable dataset cleanly, step through the active playback list, or leave a slideshow running.
What Counts As Playable
Player works with playable datasets only. A dataset is considered playable when it has at least one of the following:
- a video file
- a thumbnail
- one or more snapshots
Player opens the current playable dataset selection from the host app. If that selection is missing or no longer valid, Player falls back to the first playable dataset in the current gallery list.
Main Playback Area
Player shows:
- a native video player when the dataset has video
- a thumbnail image when the dataset is image-only
- a processing overlay when additional renders are still active
- left and right overlay navigation buttons
When the dataset is a video, the native player provides the usual playback controls. When it is image-only, Player shows the thumbnail as the current media item.
Navigation Controls
Player always navigates inside the current playable list order.
- The left overlay button moves to the previous item in that order.
- The right overlay button moves to the next item in that order.
- Disabled arrows mean there is no previous or next item available.
Slideshow Behavior
Player can advance automatically when slideshow mode is enabled.
- On video datasets, advance happens when the video ends.
- On non-video datasets, advance happens after 5 seconds.
Randompicks another playable dataset at random.Allwraps back to the first item after the end of the list.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Left Arrowmoves to the previous item in the current playable list.Right Arrowmoves to the next item in the current playable list.Escapecloses settings if they are open. Otherwise it returns to the previous page.Ctrl+,opens or closes Player settings.
In the current page implementation, Player settings are keyboard-opened only. There is no dedicated visible settings button on the page.
Player Settings
Player uses the shared preset editor. The settings modal lets you:
- choose the active preset
- create, rename, and delete presets
- copy the preset URL
- open the preset URL in a browser
The current Player preset fields are:
Mute: mute video playback audioSlideshow:None,All,Last 5,Last 10, orRandomFilter: reserved for rating-based filtering and not active in the current buildFit:ContainorCover
Fit Modes
Containshows the full image or video inside the player area.Coverfills the area and may crop the edges.
Current Notes On Slideshow Presets
The preset UI exposes Last 5 and Last 10 slideshow options. In the current build, playback still advances through the active playable list order rather than hard-limiting playback to a five-item or ten-item subset.
When To Use Player
Use Player when you need:
- uninterrupted replay of one dataset after another
- a clean playback page without Library's file-management tools
- simple slideshow behavior for operator review or display
If you need ratings, dataset metadata, or sharing actions, move to Quickview. If you need frame-by-frame image inspection, use Frames.
