Share Settings
Share Settings controls the rules and services behind the Share page. It is organized into tabs for different aspects of the sharing configuration.
Tabs
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Status | Connection state of the relay server, internet reachability, and current share mode |
| General | Media selection, QR placement, tap action, grid layout, offline QR behavior, and sharing rules |
| Terms | Terms and conditions shown in the email form |
| Template | Email subject, body, and branding |
| Logs | Email delivery queue, retry status, and log history |
Status
The Status tab shows the current delivery state for Share.
It covers:
- internet reachability
- relay connectivity
- whether sharing is disabled
- whether the app is currently in normal online mode, email-only fallback, or offline QR mode
When offline QR is enabled, the Status tab also shows that relay delivery is bypassed and local sharing is active instead.
General
The General tab controls what gets shared and how the Share page behaves:
- Media selection: Choose whether to share video, snapshots, thumbnails, or a combination
- QR placement: Where the QR code appears on the share card (overlay, sidecar, or none)
- QR width: Size of the QR code in pixels
- Tap action: What happens when a guest taps a card (QR, email, download, or none)
- Columns: Number of columns in the share grid
- Bulk selection: Whether operators can select multiple datasets at once
- Action visibility: Which sharing actions (QR, email, print, download) are available on each card
The General tab also includes Offline QR Sharing.
When enabled:
- cloud relay QR delivery is bypassed
- the share modal shows two QR codes instead of one
- guests first join local Wi-Fi, then open the local download page
- the app uses a dedicated hotspot workflow for local sharing
Offline QR controls currently include:
- Enable offline QR sharing
- Wi-Fi SSID
The hotspot password is managed automatically by the app. Operators only choose the visible network name.
When the offline QR toggle changes, the app can start or stop the hotspot automatically.
Terms
The Terms tab manages the terms and conditions that appear in the email sharing form:
- Add, edit, or remove individual terms
- Set each term as mandatory or optional
- Write the full text content of each term
- Terms appear as checkboxes in the email form that guests must accept before the email is sent
Template
The Template tab controls the email that gets sent when sharing by email:
- Subject line: The email subject, with optional template variables
- Body: The email content with formatting and template variables
- Branding: Logo and color scheme applied to the email
The email template editor supports a live preview so operators can see exactly what the recipient will receive.
Logs
The Logs tab shows the email delivery queue:
- Sent emails with delivery status (delivered, failed, retrying)
- Retry controls for failed emails
- Queue history for the current session
This is useful for monitoring delivery during a busy event and diagnosing email delivery problems.
Practical Notes
- If online QR delivery is required, both internet access and the relay connection need to be healthy.
- If offline QR mode is enabled, guests can still download locally even when the relay is unavailable.
- Relay status is still shown in offline mode for operator awareness, but it is no longer part of the local QR path.
